PDF and DOCX exports that don't break

Q: Are the exported files ATS-safe?

Yes. We test our PDF and DOCX output against the major ATS parsers (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever) and against the same parsing checks shown on the ATS Parsing feature page.

Q: Can I still edit the DOCX in Word?

Yes. The DOCX is a normal Word document with proper headings, lists, and section breaks, not a flattened text dump, so last-minute edits work as expected.

Q: Do German umlauts and special characters export correctly?

Yes. We use UTF-8 throughout the pipeline. Umlauts, diacritics, and non-Latin names survive both the PDF and DOCX export.

Q: Is there a limit on how many times I can export?

Exports follow your plan's monthly tailoring quota. Once a CV is tailored, you can re-export the same file as PDF or DOCX as often as you need within that month.

Every CV runs through the same pipeline we test against real ATS parsers. PDFs render cleanly across Acrobat, Preview, and browser viewers; DOCX files open identically in Word, Pages, and Google Docs.

Unicode characters in names, German umlauts, and accented surnames all survive the round-trip. Section structure, lists, and headings are preserved, so the DOCX stays editable.

Built on QuestPDF for PDF rendering and the Open XML SDK for DOCX, both running inside our zero-retention pipeline.
